I’ve noticed lately that a lot more fast food and carry out food restaurants are using recyclable plastics to serve their products. While it’s good that they’re using recyclable packages, it bothers me that those recyclable materials usually end up in the trash can at the restaurant.
I’ve also noticed that oftentimes those containers don’t have any logos on them. Take the soup bowl at Chick-fil-A, for instance. It’s a nice size bowl that seals really tight, is recyclable and has no logo on it. So instead of tossing it in the garbage, a few months ago I started bringing it home whenever one of us had their soup. A couple weeks ago, hubby brought home a nice serving of shrimp fried rice from a new restaurant in our area. It also was in a recyclable container that didn’t have a logo on it. A week ago, I found a great cherry pie at my local grocer that was baked in a tin foil pie pan but served in a plastic pie pan holder that yet again, was recyclable and didn’t have a logo.
